About Us

Our Story

Swedish Chef Jussi Husa has over the last 25 years created a unique fusion between Nordic, Mediterranean and Swahili cuisines. He believes there are no shortcuts to a well-prepared dish and so many of the ingredients are harvested from our edible garden in Matemwe or otherwise sourced from quality suppliers with a focus on sustainable practices. The menu, as with life, is to be savoured.

The first Mzee Husa restaurant has opened in December 2020 at Zanziblue, a highly rated boutique resort in Matemwe area. We opened the second restaurant in Stone Town in February 2022 above the historical Shangani Post Office, close to the Freddie Mercury Museum.
