Swedish Chef Jussi Husa has over the last 25 years created a unique fusion between Nordic, Mediterranean and Swahili cuisines. He believes there are no shortcuts to a well-prepared dish and so many of the ingredients are harvested from our edible garden in Matemwe or otherwise sourced from quality suppliers with a focus on sustainable practices. The menu, as with life, is to be savoured.
After executive Chef stints at Esque Zalu and Zuri, Chef Jussi opened his Mzee Husa restaurant in 2020 at Zanziblue, a highly rated boutique resort in Matemwe, Zan.

Our continental breakfast includes eggs your way, exotic Zanzibar fruits, freshly made pastries, freshly squeezed juices, hot drinks and more. Everything is local and homemade.
12pm - 3pm
Our a la carte menu includes a selection of small bites, salads, hot dishes, pastas, curries, and gourmet burgers.
6pm - 10pm
In addition to the all day specials, we fire up the grill to craft one of the best beef steaks on the island, in addition to lobster, cigale de mer or freshly caught whole fish. Alternatively try our juicy lamb shank, a rarity in Zanzibar.
